- •Seany - It is much more difficult for Liverpool to sign players in the same way Brighton do. Our overall scouting isn't good enough at the moment, but part of the way work permits are given, as I understand it, is that an incoming overseas player's salary needs to be comparable to what other players in the squad already earn. - •On the DOF Debate. There is so much more money in the game today. A football club can’t afford to jeopardise its chances based on one person’s decision making. Especially if he is a manager and if he loses 5-6 games in a row & he could be sacked. The Right Director of football is just as important nowadays as well as the right manager. He communicates with the scouts and data analytics etc.
